DANIEL ZANGARA
STUDIO
01 about
Daniel Zangara is known for residences that feel as though they have always belonged.

Working in the architectural landscape of New Orleans, his studio is devoted to the thoughtful continuation of the city’s historic fabric — preserving its exterior integrity, structural logic, and craftsmanship — while allowing interiors to evolve with grace and intention.

Each commission begins with careful study: of context, lineage, proportion, and material. Exterior architecture is approached with discipline and fidelity to traditional construction methods, ensuring that additions, restorations, and new work sit comfortably within the established streetscape. The goal is not imitation, but continuity.

Within, the language may soften. Contemporary finishes, restrained interventions, and tailored detailing are incorporated where appropriate — always in service of balance, never trend. The result is architecture that feels both grounded and quietly current.

The studio continues to begin its work by hand. Conceptual drawings establish proportion, hierarchy, and rhythm long before a project reaches the construction site. This deliberate pace allows decisions to be measured and enduring.
Daniel Zangara Studio maintains a discreet, atelier-style practice, working closely with a limited number of clients each year. Collaboration is direct. Oversight is personal. Craftsmanship is uncompromised. Each project is intended not simply for immediate admiration, but for generational stewardship.

Daniel received his architectural education at the Tulane University School of Architecture and began his career immersed in the restoration of significant historic residences throughout the city. Years spent studying traditional construction methods and period detailing formed the foundation of his practice.

He established Zangara + Partners in 2012, building a reputation for architecturally rigorous residential work. In 2026, the firm refined its structure to become Daniel Zangara Studio — a return to a more personal, studio-based model centered on scholarship, discretion, and the measured execution of enduring architecture.

The studio’s work has been featured in New Orleans Homes and Lifestyles, The New Orleans Advocate, and Preservation in Print.
